How Much Does a Kitchen Remodel Cost in Denver?

It is the first question almost everyone asks, and the honest answer is that it depends. But "it depends" is not actually helpful, so let us give you the real framework we use when we are helping clients think through a kitchen remodel budget in Denver.

In our experience, Denver kitchen remodels break into roughly three tiers.

Entry-Level Updates: $40,000 to $70,000

A focused update, new semi-custom cabinets, countertops, backsplash, and fixtures without moving plumbing or walls, tends to run somewhere between $40,000 and $70,000. These projects can look genuinely transformed if the bones of the kitchen layout are solid and the decisions are made well. They are limited, though. If your layout is the problem, a cosmetic update does not solve it.

Mid-Range Remodel: $70,000 to $120,000

A mid-range kitchen remodel with new semi-custom cabinetry, a layout adjustment, high-quality countertops, quality appliances, and thoughtful tile work typically falls in the $70,000 to $120,000 range. This is where most of our clients land, and it is where you can make meaningful improvements to both how the kitchen looks and how it actually functions.

Full Custom: $130,000 to $200,000+

Full custom cabinetry, structural changes, premium appliances, statement tile, and detailed finish work can reach $130,000 to $200,000 or more. These are the kitchens that photograph beautifully and feel like a completely different house. They take longer and require a more involved process, but for homeowners planning to stay long-term, they are often worth it.

What Actually Drives the Number

Layout changes are the biggest variable. Moving a wall, relocating a sink, or shifting the refrigerator to a different wall all require plumbing, electrical, and sometimes structural work that adds up quickly. If you can work with the existing footprint, the budget goes a lot further.

Cabinetry typically represents thirty to forty percent of a kitchen budget. Semi-custom cabinetry hits a solid middle ground between stock options and full custom. Full custom cabinets are beautiful but come at a significant premium.

Appliances are another major line item that homeowners sometimes forget to account for when they start pricing a remodel. A quality appliance package can easily run $15,000 to $30,000 depending on brands and specifications.

A Note on Estimates in the Denver Market

The gap between a well-estimated project and a poorly-estimated one in the Denver market right now can be significant. We hear regularly from homeowners who got a low bid early in the process and encountered substantial change orders during construction. Our feasibility process is specifically designed to surface those variables before you commit, so the number you start with is close to the number you finish with.

If you are starting to think about a kitchen remodel in Denver and want a realistic picture of what your specific project might cost, that is exactly the kind of conversation our feasibility study is built for. Reach out and let's talk.
